Ben Hinton, Principal Podiatrist and Co-Owner
Ben has always had a desire to work in the field of health and to help people. He has a keen interest in sports based rehabilitation and thrives on a challenge when presented with a complex biomechanical case. He loves seeing the treatment that he prescribes helping a patient overcome their problem.
He completed a degree in Applied Science Human Movement with a major in exercise science and minor exercise rehabilitation which introduced him to lower limb biomechanics and highlighted for him that a large proportion of injuries suffered by both recreational and professional athletes were in the lower limbs.
"The next logical step was to pursue a degree in podiatry which develops expertise in lower limb mechanics and rehabilitation, and allows practitioners a great career progression path with options to progress to becoming a podiatric surgeon," Ben says. In light of this Ben then went on to pursue Podiatry and gained his Bachelor of Heath Science Podiatry from La Trobe University.
Ben joined the clinic in early 2014 after relocating with his wife Lauren from Rockhampton where he had been the primary practitioner in a large and busy private practice. Raised in Wodonga, Ben now enjoys being closer to family and friends. Whilst being retired from playing Australian rules football Ben still keeps active and enjoys road cycling, endurance running and the occasional triathlon.
Ben has built a solid reputation amongst other health professionals and has gained trust amongst his patient base. Ben is one of a number of friendly, professional podiatrists at Active Foot Clinic Wagga, so come in and see us and find out how we can help you.
