Sore achy feet at work? Top tips for your relief!
Your feet will travel around the world 4 times in your lifetime so here are 4 tips to keep you and your feet going at work!
Remember, no matter what work you do it’s in your best interest to listen to what your feet are telling you, especially if they’re hurting. You spend most of your day at work, so there’s no need to spend all that time in pain.
Here are some of tips that will help you get through the 8 hour (or more) slog each day.
1. It sounds simple, but wear good supportive shoes with the right fit and right cushioning, and if you have orthotics, wear them too!. No matter what you do for work you can’t go wrong with the right pair of shoes for the job! We have some good examples on our ‘shoes with comfort' page, from work boots through to shoes for the office.
2. Wear socks! Just like the right pair of shoes go a long way it’s important to find a good pair of socks, not only will they reduce blisters throughout the day, but they will help to keep you dry and comfortable if you have the right kind. Whatever you do for work, look for a pair with a high cotton content.
3. Make sure your skin is in good order- corns, calluses, ingrown toenails can all cause problems and may get worse over time if they’re not tended to properly. Take care of your feet , you’re on them all day after all! It’s a good idea to invest in a foot file, but steer clear of the grater style files as they drag the skin and damage it. Instead, aim for a fine sandpaper foot file.
4. If you’re standing for most of the day a fatigue mat can do wonders to cushion you from the hard floor. You’ll be surprised how much of a difference they can make!
